Each year, our member elect several new board members who guide the direction of the organization. Our board works closely with the Executive Director and meets monthly to discuss all things ACTWS. We’re always so fortunate to have so many dedicated members throw their hats into the ring and this year is no different!
Here’s who is running to be on our board for 2022/2023:
President Elect – Sarah Hatt. Lethbridge College undergraduate student with an array of experience in wildlife and conservation.
Secretary-Treasurer – Samantha Stamler. A wildlife disease technician with AEP who has worked with many different species over time.
Student Director – Remington Bracher. A conservation biology student at the U of A and an avid backcountry hunter/angler and volunteer.
Directors – members will elect two of the below applicants
Robb Stavne – Wildlife Specialist with Sora Ecological Consulting with over 20 years of experience as a wildlife ecologist.
Glenn Mack – A Provincial Wildlife Habitat Specialist for AEP working on wildlife habitat policy and who specializes in waterfowl research and management.
Emily Herdman – A researcher at InnoTech Alberta working on various biological monitoring projects.
Ashlyn Herron – A student in her final year of her Ecosystem Management degree at Lethbridge College and an active member of the Lethbridge Wildlife Society student chapter.
Brianna Lorentz – An MSc. student completing her research on the management of ground squirrels in Jasper national Park.
Donovan Currie – An avid conservation and wildlife volunteer and a graduate of MacEwan University.
